The plant is native of America, spread widely to Asia. Various biological activities have been reported for Gomphrena species. All parts of Gomphrena globosa (L.) plant can be used as medicine against various diseases. G. Globosa leaves and flower used as a folk remedy, food colorant, oliguria, heat and empacho, hypertension, antioxidant, antimicrobial, cough, diabetes, kidney problems, hoarseness, bronchitis, jaundice and high cholesterol. The present review is to focus on the various extraction, phytochemical evaluation and pharmacological activities of plant Gomphrena globosa.
