Atopic Dermatitis or eczema is the most common chronic relapsing skin disease seen in infancy and childhood. It affects 10-30% of children worldwide and frequently occurs in families with other atopic diseases, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergy. The case study discussed here is of a 14-year-old male child with a papulovesicular rash over the right ankle region, severe itching, and occasional bloody discharge from a lesion. He received treatment but got temporary relief, and relapses were frequent. Then he came to Ayurvedic OPD and was given an ayurvedic regimen (i.e., Khadir Ghrita, Gandhak Rasayana and Kaishor Guggula, along with the external application of Tuvarak tail over lesions). The child had significant relief from signs and symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis. The recurrence or the frequency of disease was found to be markedly reduced.
