<title>Abstract</title>
Introduction: Scabies is a contagious skin infestation caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis, affecting over 200 million people globally, with higher prevalence in tropical and resource-poor settings. In Ayurveda, scabies is correlated with Pama Kushtha, a type of Kshudra Kushtha (minor skin disorder). Methods: This case study describes the Ayurvedic management of a 14-year-old male diagnosed with Pama Kushtha (scabies), who presented with severe itching, erythematous lesions, and burning sensations. The patient was treated with Arkamanahshiladi Taila, a medicated oil possessing Kandughna (anti-itching) and Krimighna (antiparasitic) properties, applied topically over the affected areas twice daily for 15 days. Results: Significant clinical improvement was observed, with a marked reduction in itching and lesion severity within 7 days, and complete relief reported by day 15. No adverse effects were noted, and sustained improvement was confirmed during follow-up. Discussion: This case demonstrates the potential efficacy and safety of Arkamanahshiladi Taila in the Ayurvedic management of pediatric scabies. The results suggest it may offer a viable, natural alternative to conventional scabicides, particularly in pediatric and resource-constrained settings.
