<title>Abstract</title>
Heel pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints affecting daily activities such as walking and standing. In Ayurvedic literature, heel pain can be correlated with conditions like Vatakantaka, where the aggravation of Vata Dosha plays a major role in disease manifestation. From a modern perspective, factors such as tissue stress, inflammation, and metabolic imbalance are known contributors to heel pain conditions like plantar fasciitis. The Ayurvedic concept of Atyambupaan provides a holistic explanation by linking improper dietary habits with systemic imbalance that ultimately affects musculoskeletal health. Excessive water intake may contribute to an increase in Kapha and fluid accumulation in the form of Dushta Kleda, which can further obstruct the normal movement of Vata, leading to pain and inflammation in the heel. Understanding Atyambupaan as a potential etiological factor highlights the importance of balanced water consumption and proper dietary practices in the prevention and management of heel pain. This perspective reinforces Ayurveda’s emphasis on moderation and lifestyle regulation as key elements in maintaining musculoskeletal well-being and preventing chronic pain conditions.
