<abstract><title>Abstract</title>
Infertility is an increasingly prevalent health concern affecting millions of couples globally and is often associated with considerable emotional, social, and financial burden. Although assisted reproductive technologies (ART), particularly in vitro fertilisation (IVF), have significantly advanced fertility care, their outcomes remain influenced by multiple biological and psychosocial factors. Repeated treatment failures, high procedural costs, treatment fatigue, and psychological stress continue to affect patient adherence and overall success. Ayurveda, as a holistic medical system, may offer supportive strategies targeting reproductive health, metabolic balance, stress reduction, and lifestyle optimisation. This review aimed to critically examine the available evidence on the integration of Ayurvedic interventions with IVF/ART, with specific emphasis on clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction. The literature was reviewed using electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, the Cochrane Library, and AYUSH portals. Eligible studies included clinical trials, observational studies, reviews, and case reports involving Ayurvedic interventions used as adjunctive therapies in infertility or ART settings. Available literature suggests that Ayurvedic interventions such as Panchakarma, herbal medicines, dietary regulation, yoga, and mind-body practices may support reproductive physiology by improving hormonal balance, endometrial receptivity, ovarian function, and reducing stress. Some studies also report enhanced patient compliance and improved treatment experience. However, current evidence is limited by methodological heterogeneity, small sample sizes, and a lack of robust randomised trials. Integrating Ayurveda with IVF/ART appears promising as a patient-centred supportive approach. However, stronger clinical evidence and standardised interdisciplinary protocols are necessary before routine implementation can be recommended.
