Abstract: In Ayurveda, Dantdhawan vidhi is routine work in Dinacharya, including Dantdhawan, Jivhanirlekhan, Kawal, Gandush etc., to maintain oral hygiene. Similarly, modern methods include Tooth Brushing, Gargles etc., which help keep the mouth clean and free of disease. Ayurveda gives importance to a thorough Dant Dhawan vidhi in the early morning, while modern medicine provides a general guideline of brushing teeth twice a day after meals. Both methods give importance to cleaning teeth, interdental cleaning and gums hygiene.
