Abstract: Background: Analytical profile of the drug is essential to assure the drug's safety, quality and efficacy. Objective: The present study was conducted to develop an analytical profile of Bilwadi Agada. Material and Methods: Analytical profile of the Bilwadi Agada tablet was assessed by organoleptic characteristics, physicochemical parameters, pharmaceutical analysis and TLC evaluation. The physicochemical evaluation was done by parameters viz. pH, loss on drying, total ash, water-soluble ash, alcohol-soluble extractive, and water-soluble extractives. Also, pharmaceutical analysis was done by the parameters like hardness, friability, disintegration time, uniformity of weight etc. Results: PH value, Loss on drying, total ash, water-soluble ash, alcohol soluble extractive and water-soluble extractive were 3, 0.068%, 18.5%, 4.5%, 19.2%, and 44%, respectively. The hardness of the tablet and friability was 3.6 kg/cm2 and 0.33%, respectively, whereas the disintegration time of the tablet was less than 15 minutes. Aflatoxins and heavy metals were absent, while no microbial growth was found in 24 hours in the Bilwadi Agada tablet. Discussion and Conclusion: Bilwadi Agada tablets pass all the parametric tests. These values of tests can be used as a reference value for further research on Bilwadi Agada.
