Abstract: In Ayurveda, Katigata Vata is one of the most prevalent diseases that affects the lumbar region. The typical symptoms of Katigata Vata include Ruk (pain), Stambha (stiffness), Sankoch, Katigraha, Gatra Suptata, Bheda, and Toda (pricking pain). These signs are comparable to Lumbar Spondylosis symptoms, which include excruciating back pain. Even if there are numerous well-known traditional treatments, it is still vital to look for safe and effective alternatives due to their adverse effects and dependence. Snehana, Swedana, Shodhana, and Shamana Chikitsa are straightforward, secure, and economical methods used in Ayurveda to treat illness. Pinda Sweda, a variety of Sankara Sweda that is described in Ayurveda, is beneficial for the Shamana of vitiated Vata Dosha. Vata-Kaphahar, Shoolaghna, and Balya characteristics are present in the drugs used in Kukkutanda Pinda Sweda. The clinical use of Kukkutanda Pinda Sweda and its effectiveness in the Katigata Vata are reviewed in this research.
