Abstract: The health of women is influenced by a range of physical, emotional and social factors that are distinct to the female experience. As women transition into menopause, she commonly experiences genitourinary symptoms due to hypoestrogenism, leading to vaginal atrophy. When compounded with bacterial infections, this can result into Atrophic Vaginitis and often presented along with urinary tract infections. 67-year-old post-menopausal women presented with burning sensation over the vulva and vagina, burning micturition associated with lower back pain for 6 months. On examination redness was observed on labia majora and minora along with vaginal dryness. Urine analysis revealed numerous pus cells and bacteria; culture and sensitivity test showed presence of Escherichia coli. The condition was diagnosed as Atrophic Vaginitis with UTI (Sushka Yonivyapad). This case highlights the potential benefits of treating the condition with sthanika and shamana chikitsa, incorporating medicines having vatapittahara, vruna shodhana (wound cleansing), vruna ropana (wound healing) and rasayana gunas. During follow-up, the patient reported that she was relieved from all symptoms. Urine analysis revealed occasional pus cells (0-5) with absent bacteria; culture and sensitivity showed no organism growth after 2 days of incubation at 37 ?C. From this case report it is evident that ayurvedic treatment is effective in treating Sushka Yonivyapad with special reference to Atrophic Vaginitis with UTI.
