Abstract: Chandanadi Agada is a polyherbal formulation mentioned in traditional Visha Chikitsa Granthas; Prayoga Samuchhaya, Visha Vaidya jyotsnika and Kriyakoumudi. It consists of four ingredients, i.e. Chandana, Neeli, Kushtha and Tanduleeyaka. It is explained in Sarva Visha Chikitsa Prakarana and is indicated in Nana Visha (various poisoning conditions). There are various simple and effective formulations in traditional Visha Chikitsa Granthas which should be studied for its qualitative and quantitative parameters, pharmacological actions and therapeutic efficacy. In this paper, a review on Chandanadi Agada is detailed. The individual drugs of the formulation are predominantly having Tikta and Madhura Rasa, Laghu and Ruksha guna and Katu vipaka. The drugs are possessing Vishaghna, Garavishaghna and Rakta sodhana properties. The Rasa Panchaka and Karma of the individual drugs are pointing to the Vishaghna action of Chandanadi Agada. Tikta Madhura Rasa alleviate Visha and Laghu Ruksha Guna helps in Sroto Sodhana.
