Abstract: Pakshaghata is regarded as the predominant Vata dosha vyadhi. The patient typically appears with the weakness on one side of the body. Face could be involved or not. Numerous factors such as, Vaya, bala dosha affect the prognosis. According to modern science, the brain controls every motor function, because of their greatest resemblance, cerebrovascular accidents which are primarily responsible for loss of bodily function can be associated with Pakshaghata. It is considered as one among the Vataja nanatmaja vikara. margavarana and dhatukshaya are two main reasons for the Vatavyadhi which can be correlated to ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke respectively. Several kinds of chikitsa have been mentioned in Ayurveda, which is regarded as the oldest science of life, for the treatment of Vatavyadhi. Of all the chikitsa listed, shadvidopakrama is considered as the most essential therapeutic approach. Understanding upakrama becomes crucial in the present era. One can think of shadvidha upakrama, the synthesis of ayurvedic prime upakramas, as a component of yuktivipashraya chikitsa. Many therapeutic techniques, such as snehana, swedana, langhana, brimhana, rukshana, and stambhana these are the shadupakramas for the treatment of illness have been referenced in Ayurvedic scriptures.
