Abstract: The indications of Darunaka, a widespread scalp condition, include kandu (itching), rukshata (dryness), keshya chyuti (hair fall), and twak sputana (scaling). Approximately one quarter of dermatology consultation in pediatric outpatient settings are linked to this disorder. Ayurveda, specifically the Kaumarabhritya branch, offers effective remedies for specific disorders. To cure Darunaka, Acharya Sharangdhara describes the application of a lepa (paste) made from Amrabija Churna (mango seed powder) and Haritaki Churna (Terminalia chebula powder). This study presents a case of a 14-year-old male diagnosed with Darunaka. The patient underwent a complete course of therapy involving the external application of a paste prepared from Amrabija Churna and Haritaki Churna mixed with milk. Post-treatment evaluation revealed significant symptomatic relief, including reduced itching, decreased hair fall, alleviation of scalp dryness, and diminished scaling. These findings suggest that the described Ayurvedic formulation is a safe, cost-effective, and easily applicable treatment modality for managing Darunaka, particularly in pediatric populations.
