Abstract: The World Health Organization (WHO) has created standards for herbal formulations and emphasizes the significance of quality and safety. The standardization process guarantees the identity, quality, and purity of herbal formulations by verifying their active compounds. Sangkaara Vairavan is a polyherbal siddha formulation from the text Theraiyar vagadam indicated for Iraippu, Kasam (Bronchial asthma) and Sogai (Anasarca). The Aim of the study is to evaluate the physicochemical and phytochemical analysis of the drug Sangkaara Vairavan. The organoleptic character of Sangkaara Vairavan was brown in colour with pleasant odour, round in appearance and hard to touch. The physicochemical analysis indicates a drying loss at 110 °C was 10.63%, Total ash value 8.74%, Acid insoluble ash 7.99%, Water soluble extractive 18.25%, Alcohol soluble extractive 8.28%, pH value 4.89%. Aqueous Sangkaara Vairavan extract contains the following phytochemicals such as flavonoids, steroids, and phenolic compounds. This study establishes the study drug as a reference standard for the quality control of standard pharmaceutical products and for further analytical inquiries. The evidence presented herein is foundational for the design and execution of future clinical studies.
