Abstract: Objective: This article explores the role of Ayurveda and Yoga in overcoming addiction by addressing the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of substance and behavioural dependencies. Data Sources: A comprehensive literature review, including academic journals, government reports, and Ayurvedic and Yogic scriptures, was conducted. Information was gathered from published research papers on addiction, Ayurvedic treatments, Yogic practices, and their impact on de-addiction. Review Methods: The study examines the mechanisms of addiction, its causes, and its impact on individuals and society. It analyses the efficacy of Ayurvedic interventions, such as Panchakarma and Rasayana therapies, alongside Yogic practices like Yama, Niyama, Asanas, Pranayama, and meditation. Psychological and behavioural approaches are also reviewed, including Sattvavajaya Chikitsa and mindfulness. Conclusion: Ayurveda and Yoga provide a holistic framework for addiction recovery by detoxifying the body, restoring mental balance, and strengthening emotional resilience.
